To support against an opponent
Today’s Verse
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God!
I strengthen you – yes, I help you – yes, I uphold you with my saving right-hand
He Fights for Us
God is going to help us against our opponents. There is no need to be afraid. If we lack strength to fight our battles, we must reach out to God. He will provide us with all the strength we need. He goes ahead of our troubles and resolves them for us. He knows how much we can or cannot handle. He takes care of the excess.
The Catch
However, we must be willing to let Him be a part of our lives. We must trust Him to be in control. If we feel we can do it alone, He will not intervene. He will let us go and fight our own battles. Problem is we can be stubborn. We may think we can handle something without His help. How much easier to resolve our situation can be when He leads the way!
Surrender
What we must do is fully surrender to God, for he will go ahead of us and fight for us. He is the Captain of our conquest. For, if we surrender our will to God, we will never need to surrender unto our enemies, problems, turmoil, heartaches, nor burdens. He will triumph and intercede in our behalf.
So, we need not be afraid, we must give it all to God. Let Him bring us to victory.
